AYF/UA Youth Combine Clinic

Posted by Clint Parsley On March - 8 - 2010

IMG_0006 The youth combine clinic on Saturday the 6th was a great success. With over 100 participants ranging from 8 – 13 years old the Under Armour folks did a great job. All the participants went through a mini combine with instruction at each station. IMG_0241Everyone I spoke with said they had a good time and really enjoyed the clinic. Mesa Youth Football had 10-12 athletes that participated and we are looking for an even bigger turnout for next year. Keep tuned to the blog and website for future events.

Our thanks and appreciation goes out to Under Armour and American Youth Football; nicely done!!

Annual Relay for Life Cook-off

Posted by Clint Parsley On March - 3 - 2010

Cookoff_Logo Think you make the best appetizer, entree or dessert? Last years reigning champion, Karen Eulate, has been heard saying: “Bring it on…”. If that’s not a challenge, then I don’t know what is.

It’s time for the Annual Relay for Life Cook-off!! The Annual Cook-off challenges all “Appeteazers”, “Grill Masters” and “Pastry Chefs” to show what your made of, or more appropriately, what that famous dish of yours is made of. This years event will feature three categories: Appetizer, Entree and Desserts. Each entry is only $20.00 to enter and 100% of the entry fees go towards the cure and research of Cancer.

If your a triple threat, then enter all three categories, there is no limit as to how many dishes you enter; each of your entries will not only provide scrumptious tastings for all involved but will aid in finding a cure for Cancer!!

Don’t feel as if you’ve got what it takes to whip up the winning dish? That’s okay too, for a modest $5.00 you earn some eating rights. Where else can you sample a wide variety of great food for just $5.00 and help in fighting a disease that has touched so many of our lives in one shape or form. To ensure there is plenty of great food for sampling they are asking each family to have at least one chef with an entry.

You can download the flier for the event (has all the registration details, addresses, etc…) at http://mesayouthfootball.com/relayforlifecookoffflier.pdf, if you have any questions just email the organizer at relayforlifecookoff[at]live[dot]com
