Helpful Tips on how to protect your body against the Swine flu and other seasonal bugs.

Cold and Flu season is here and this year we have the addition of the greatly media focused Swine flu. It is all around us and has been forging through the schools and infecting one child after another very rapidly. Here are common everyday things you can do to help greatly reduce the risk of catching the nasty little bug, without getting the still controversial vaccine.

Soldiers Prevail in Round 1

As the 2009 CAYFL Round 1 Playoffs kicked off, the Mesa Soldiers traveled to the DW Incas for their round 1 appearance. The Mesa Soldiers a 5 seed faced off against the 12 seed DW Incas at the Incas home field at 10 am on Saturday the 24th.

In the opening series the Soldier defense shut down the Inca’s offense and it appeared as if the Soldiers were going to dominate the Incas. That my friends would not be the case; at least not on the scoreboard. Read the rest of this entry »

Rough Night for Red Mountain

Red Mountain faced off against the Coyotes of Centennial this evening for their Homecoming game at Red Mountain High School. The first half was some of the best football I’ve seen out of the Mountain Lions all year. Their defense stepped it up a few notches and did an excellent job and held Centennial (4th in the nation) to just 17 points. Not to be outdone by the defense; Red Mountain’s offense moved the ball down field just as well and put up 14 points of their own to go to half 14 – 17. Read the rest of this entry »

Red Mountain Video Grabs Prize

The “104 Yard Touchdown” video, submitted by David Hutzler of Red Mountain, recently won a prize of $2,500.00 for the Mountain Lion Athletic department! I spoke with David Hutzler this evening while we were at the Jrs game at Red Mountain High School.

Chargers game day worker dies after fall

A tragic accident occurred a few hours before the Broncos vs Chargers game last night. Apparently the game day staffer fell roughly 25-30 feet after falling out of the press box that would be used by the Denver Bronco’s assistant coaches.
